ACTIVITIES OF “COMPAGNIE NATIONALE DE NAVIGATION” (CNN) GROUP’S SUBSIDIARIES

In each of its sectors of activity, CNN group has developed and maintains close relations with public institutions, including the French ministry of defence and local authorities.

 

Its activities are split in 3 main sectors:

 
Helicopter operations
 

Héli-Union group owns and operates a fleet of around 30 helicopters employed in support of offshore oil platforms.

It provides logistic support and heavy maintenance to its fleet and those of other companies or third parties, particularly the French defence ministry.

Onshore Petroleum Logistics
 
 

Compagnie Industrielle Maritime (CIM), which stores crude oil and refined products on various sites, in particular in Le Havre and Antifer where CIM operates the oil terminals.

TRAPIL, owner and operator of pipeline networks serving, in particular, the Paris region from Le Havre, and managing common defence pipelines on behalf of NATO.

 

   
 
Shipping and Marine Services
 
 

CNN’s maritime activity is carried out by MN, SMN, SAO and their subsidiaries.

Compagnie Maritime Nantaise - MN conducts its activity using its own vessels, in both the industrial and specialist shipping sectors. In addition, through its MN Services Industrie subsidiary, MN has extended its activity into the operational maintenance of medium tonnage ships of the French Navy.


 

Société Morbihannaise de Navigation (SMN) and its subsidiaries provide passenger shipping services on the routes to the islands of Groix, Belle-Ile-en-Mer, Houat and Hoëdic and servicing the Channel Islands for the “Conseil Général de la Manche” .

SMN also runs the cross-harbour service between Brest and the Ile Longue navy base on behalf of the French Navy.

Société d’Armement de l’Ouest (SAO), through its Croisières Inter-Iles, Naviland, Compagnie des Iles and Compagnie Corsaire subsidiaries, has developed maritime tourism activities from St Malo to La Rochelle.

The Compagnie Maritime Nantaise – MN is a company that owns, mans and manages ships, specialized in industrial and specialist shipping and maritime logistics. The Compagnie Maritime Nantaise – MN is a subsidiary of the Compagnie Nationale de Navigation group (CNN). The Compagnie Nationale de Navigation and its subsidiary, the Compagnie Maritime Nantaise – MN, design and build ships. The activities of the Compagnie Nationale de Navigation’s subsidiaries cover 3 main sectors: Helicopter operations (via the Héli-Union group), shore oil logistics (via the Compagnie Industrielle Maritime CIM-SNC and TRAPIL – the pipeline oil transport company), shipping and maritime services (via the Société Morbihannaise de Navigation – SMN and the Société d'Armement de l'Ouest – SAO). In each of these fields of activity, the CNN group has developed and maintains close relations with public institutions, including the French defence ministry and local authorities. The Compagnie Maritime Nantaise – MN is a member of the Armateurs de France professional organization, for which safety is a priority. The Compagnie Maritime Nantaise – MN has ISM (International Safety Management) certification. The Compagnie Maritime Nantaise – MN manages a fleet of French-flagged ships to provide industrial and specialist shipping services. The Compagnie Maritime Nantaise – MN complies with national and international navigational regulations. The Compagnie Nationale de Navigation’s maritime activity is carried out, amongst others, by MN and its subsidiary MN Services Industrie (MNSI).
